CPHA Receives $5000 Grant from USA HOCKEY!   Thank you Phil Shaw for pulling this together for us.   We are working on getting a full set of rink refrigeration piping delivered before the first of the year.   We could install piping next summer.

Find out why Chubbuck’s Outdoor Rink is important to neighboring hockey associations by watching the movie Pond Hockey on Hulu:

Pond Hockey
Pond Hockey (2008) Description:
The pond. This is where hockey was born—under the open sky—where the ice is gritty and so is the play. For generations, Northlanders have grown up on outdoor ice. But, there are new climate- controlled arenas in every town, and that’s where the kids go to practice year-round now. The frozen ponds are losing their inhabitants. In Pond Hockey, director Tommy Haines and his Minnesota crew chronicle the changing culture of hockey. Through interviews from Wayne Gretzky, Neal Broten, and Sidney Crosby to local rinkrats, Pond Hockey examines the true meaning of sport. More than just a celebration of a beloved game, Pond Hockey asks: is there room for the free spirit of the pond in today’s sports experience, or will the open sky and howling winds give way to whistles and metal ceilings?

Become a CPHA Advertising Partner

The Chubbuck Pocatello Hockey Association is now selling board ads at the Chubbuck Community Ice Rink in Capell Park, located just off of Yellowstone Avenue, behind Chubbuck City Hall. This is a natural ice rink that hosts hockey practices, games, tournaments, and open skating for the public, December through February.

Your ad dollars support CPHA programs

Your purchase of an ad will provide CPHA with the money necessary to maintain the ice rink, and support the eventual purchase of a refrigeration system that will guarantee five months of ice each winter for hockey and recreational skating.

What does a board ad look like?

Your board ad will be professionally designed by Sign-Up and stands 8 to 10 feet long and 3.5 feet high, covering the board from bottom to top. It is easily visible from in the rink or in the grandstands and spectator areas just outside the rink.
